Circle of Moms is the largest social network for mothers and one of the leading Internet properties focused on parenting.  Our mission is to connect moms to the people and resources they need to be productive, effective and happy.

Now that we have a user base of 9 million+ moms, we are looking for a talented and passionate Sales Director to help bring great deals from highly trusted businesses and brands to our user base.  Our goal is to be the #1 provider of deals to moms nationwide. This is a great opportunity to join a small, but rapidly growing team (there are currently 15 employees), work on a product that touches an enormous user base (1 in 5 moms with children at home has registered for Circle of Moms) and earn a competitive cash bonus and significant equity stake in the company.

We are looking for a candidate that will grow with the company and this position comes with the opportunity to advance very quickly based on performance.

You will be responsible for:

  • Closing sales and bringing in revenue.  You will need to set and hit revenue targets on a locale-by-locale basis.
  • Working with our marketing team to create appropriate positioning and merchandising for campaigns.
  • Building and managing our sales team (one territory today, with additional ones to be added based on execution).  You must create a sales process that is replicable and scalable.
  • Designing our roll-out strategy across multiple territories

This position reports in to the CEO and is very high visibility; you will have regular access to our investors and board.  This is a great opportunity to build a substantial business!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client campaigns from end-to-end
  • Support sales team by designing proposals, I/Os, and other relevant deliverables
  • Manage outside vendors and contractors
  • Work with online trafficking team to ensure timely and optimal campaign launches
  • Provide updates and final reporting to clients and respond to client queries

Russell Reynolds Associates is looking for: EVP Sales

  • At least 15 years of sales and general management experience
  • 10+ years experience in selling software products and projects, preferably in the education services industry. (required)
  • Results Orientation: Proven ability to meet & exceed aggressive sales targets. Specifically, will have scaled business from $50M-$200M+. Will understand & have proven success in creating large upsell opportunities within a mature market. (required)
  • Experience at both large companies (Oracle, Apple, IBM etc.) and Startups in sales (required)
  • Top Educational Background (i.e. Ivy League/equivalent BA/BS + MBA) (required)
  • Experience in sales at a company selling educational services (Rosetta, Kaplan, etc.) is a HUGE plus.

The successful candidate with have at least 15 years of sales and general management experience, preferably in the software industry, with at least five years in an executive level management role.  S/he will have a minimum of 10 years experience in selling software products and projects, preferably in the education services industry.  Ideally, s/he will have worked in a global organization and will be adept at working with a variety of cultural nuances.

The successful candidate will have worked and honed his/her sales process and skills in a larger organization, but will have the experience of working within a smaller, entrepreneurial environment.  Preferably, s/he will have been a leader within a private equity and/or venture-backed company.  Chicago area position.
